Center for Learning presented A Whole New Way of Looking at Reading Acquisition: A paradigm shift re-examining the roles of attention and phonemic awareness to psychology professionals and parents. Keynote speakers included Casey Dorman, Ph.D. Psychologist, former Dean of the School of Human Behavior at the U.S. International University, and co-author of Cognitive Effects of Early Brain Injury; Ihab Soliman, M.D., Associate Clinical Professor and former director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for the Department of Psychiatry at UCI; and, Kenneth W. Steinhoff, M.D., Associate Clinical Professor and former director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for the Department of Psychiatry at UCI.
